Sandwich Story

I thought i would post what my day has been like so far...humorous things like this keep happening to me, and i thought you, my blogging family, might gain a few laughs from it.
So we have a board meeting in the Chamber today..the whole chamber board ( around 10-13 people) come together for a meeting. They decided they wanted sandwiches at this meeting. So i was asked to go up to Safeway and get some subs and chips for the meeting. I called in the order and then was chastised for not calling earlier. But they said they would do it. So i show up to get it, and it's in the middle of Hermiston High School lunch rush..NOT FUN. I get the sandwich's and chips, balance them and get them to my car and get them to the conference center but i was a little late. So the meeting was just getting started. I walk in and realize the sandwich's ( 3 huge subs) are not cut. And Debbie my boss is like will you cut them for us. I felt like saying yes massah. So they all stare at me while I'm struggling to cut these huge subs ( mind you I'm cutting them with a HHS sports boosters STEAK knife from the steak feed we went to) that was the only knife provided for me. So I'm like sawing through these sandwiches trying to get them cut, pieces of the sandwich were flying around. I was so embarrassed and you know when you cut a sandwich badly like parts of it are all hanging out...when i got through it looked like a sandwich war had been fought and i wanted to yell sandwich down in a war voice. So i ran out of the room and I'm hiding in my office now. Sigh. The whole time i was cutting up their sandwiches they were all just staring at me. sigh.

A Rainy Day in Paris

I have been VERY remiss on my blogging!!!! I hate that!! I'm in a dreamy, cozy state right now so I'm going to find a picture on google that reminds me of my mood and write my feelings on
that

Found a picture of a rainy day in Paris..i wish i could hop a plane right now and get lost in the beauty of a small Parisian cafe. I'd sip espresso wearing a warm scarf and have nothing in front of me but a blank sheet of paper and a pen. I'd sit for hours on end writing on the flurry of thoughts in my mind mixed in with the observations of pedestrians walking in front of me. After i felt i had soaked in enough of the world around me i would venture out. Pulling my woolen cap closer down on my head i would just stroll up and down the city streets; soaking in the culture and the world around me. Happiness would overtake all my senses...being in a new world does that. It makes you not only re-evaluate the normalcy of one's world back home, but the beauty and wonder of being alone in a new place. Even the being alone wouldn't bother me...I'm an adventurer at heart. I thrive on new experiences and places....someday...someday I'll get to that cafe and that moment. And friends, I'm not sure if I'll come back:)
Enjoy the rainy day...and explore the thoughts that come to your mind when you find you have a moment to contemplate and think

A Great Recipe

1. Take a 10-30 minute walk every day. And while you walk, smile. It is the ultimate anti-depressant.
2. Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day. Talk to God about what is going on in your life. Buy a lock if you have to.
3. When you wake up in the morning complete the following statement, 'My purpose is to __________ today. I am thankful for______________'
4. Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less food that is manufactured in plants.
5. Drink green tea and plenty of water.. Eat blueberries, wild Alaskan salmon, broccoli, almonds & walnuts.
6. Try to make at least three people smile each day.
7. Don't waste your precious energy on gossip, energy vampires, issues of the past, negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment.
8. Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a college kid with a maxed out charge card.
9. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.
10. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.
11. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
12. You are not so important that you have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.
13. Make peace with your past so it won't spoil the present.
14. Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
15. No one is in charge of your happiness except you.
16. Frame every so-called disaster with these words: 'In five years, will this matter?'
17. Forgive everyone for everything.
18. What other people think of you is none of your business.
19. GOD heals everything - but you have to ask Him.
20. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
21. Your job won't take care of you when you are in need. Your friends will. Stay in touch!!!
22. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.
23. Each night before you go to bed complete the following statements: I am thankful for __________. Today I accomplished _________.
24. Remember that you are too blessed to be stressed.
25. When you are feeling down, start listing your many blessings. You'll be smiling before you know it.

Musings and Merriment

I had the wonderful pleasure of hosting Ethan ( my man friend as i call him, we aren't "boyfriend/girlfriend" but we are more than just friends. I dubbed him, "man friend" he doesn't like it very much:) It was a VERY fun weekend however. Ethan and my cousin Scott and his wonderful girlfriend Lauren all arrived Friday night! We headed to my FAVORITE restaurant "Taste of Thai" and then came back and all snuggled up in the den and watched Lucky Number Slevin...very fun!!
I just LOVE being a hostess...i turn into super host when people are in the house. I was up at 7:00 am Saturday morning, made home made cranberry muffins with fresh fruit and fresh coffee. I laid out plates and napkins, did laundry, laid out fresh towels and just breathed in the fresh morning air of NOT having to rush off to work! After breakfast we frolicked out at McNary dam with Scott and Lauren's golden retriever Kona and had lunch at Hales! The evening ended up with all of us attending the Melonville Comedy Festival at the conference center and heading to the Pheasant afterwards for some good old fashioned Hermiston fun!
Sunday Ethan went to church with me which was so fun! He met Trevor and Joy ( pastors) and got to finally meet Tiff and Jacob ( he feels like he knows them i talk about them so much) and Whit and Gary! All in all, great weekend..
I'm subbing at the High School today and then heading home at 3:30 when school is out to take a long and well deserved nap...
Being the hostess is SO much fun, but napping in a quiet house once company is gone is oh so relaxing and wonderful!
Hope your Monday is BLESSED!!!!

25 Random Things

Rules:

Once you've been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 25 random things, facts, habits, or goals about you. At the end, choose 6 people to be tagged. You have to tag the person who tagged you. If I tagged you, it's because I want to know more about you.

(To do this, go to "notes" under tabs on your profile page, paste these instructions in the body of the note, type your 25 random things, tag 25 people (in the right hand corner of the app) then click publish.)

1. I am obsessed with Facebook, and my blog. I typically check them at least 50 times a day.

2. I graduated from WOU in March with my Bachelors degree, I'll be going back to get my Masters hopefully in the next year.

4. I love daydreaming about the different ways my life might turn out..i can get caught up in a good daydream at any random point in the day.

5. Fall time is my ultimate favorite season. I can't get enough of it.

6. One of the best dates i have ever had was when a guy took me to two movies in the theater back to back. It's been a lifelong dream of mine to attend two movies in a row back to back..it finally happened and it rocked my face off. 2nd favorite date of all time, was when a guy took me to a cadaver lab. Let me tell you, one of a kind!!!

The building is not ventilated. No windows. You have to open this huge sliding door to get fresh air in. Me, as the sub, didn't know that.
